It's no secret that 2015 has been a difficult year for global mining companies, with commodity prices depreciating at an alarming rate. As we look ahead, the impact of government policies and regulations will be crucial to the decision as to whether or not to continue marginal or subsidized operations or to invest and develop new mines. Countries such as Zambia being prime examples of how government policy can positively or negatively affect the health of the industry.
The 2nd annual gathering of the World Initiative of Mining Lawyers will review recent changes around the world in the area of mining regulation and policy. This year’s conference, scheduled to be held at one of the largest chateau hotels in France, will serve as a platform to explore, evaluate and judge mining policies – what is working and what is not.
One of the highlights of the conference will be the unveiling of a Model Mining Code by WIOML. Coupled with an invaluable opportunity to stay abreast of international developments and the opportunity to network with colleagues, the event is not to be missed.
Sponsorship opportunities exist for companies and firms at many levels.
